Ice lakes via Phelps creek

        I went into Ice lakes via Phlelps and Leroy creeks. The lakes were beautiful and completly snow free. Even the saddle above upper was snow free. I saw NO fish rising in the upper lake. I saw limited rising in the lower lake. I did see many 6-8″ fish jumping completely out of the water to get bugs in the lakelet below Upper Ice Lake. Here is a picture of upper, the lakelet, and lower Ice.

          Beautiful shots, Backpacker Joe. Doesn’t look like much in the way of groceries can be available in those lakes for big-fish growth. Scenery is worth the trip, though.

            Thanks MB. It is in my top 5 of areas to go. Talk about beautiful. I do know that there are years that those lake never thaw! Maybe that has something to do with it.
