        does anyone know when trout would be released in long lake? (lewis county) the creel report on the state website just says that they stock it with catchable trout, but doesn’t say when. I hiked in on memorial day weekend, a couple of snowdrifts were still in the road and I didn’t want to take a chance on getting stuck. it was a short hike, maybe a 1/2 mile. when I got there, to my surprise, most of it was still covered with ice. I had never been there, so it was a fun daytrip. not sure why the pic got cranked sideways like that but you get the idea.

          When they stock it varies from year to year. But I suspect the real fish you want to catch are holdovers anyway. I’d go any time. Well, any time after the ice comes off 😀
